IGNORE CALLS FOR SACK OF ISOPADEC STAFF.... NDYF To Uzodinma
"Those Behind The Calls Are Enemies Of Shared Prosperity Government"....NDYF
....Demands ISOPADEC MD Slot
NDYF has a massive pool of upwardly mobile professionals and careerists that posses the requisite skills and technocratic competencies needed to re-engineer and bring about the long needed organizational turnaround of ISOPADEC as a world class development institution".
The National Leadership of Niger Delta Youth Forum ( NDYF) has called on Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State to ignore the infamous calls and counterproductive advice by certain persons or groups to reduce the staff strength of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC).
Barr. Chuks Otikpo, the National Chairman of NDYF, who made the call in Abuja during a Press conference, argued that Governor Hope Uzodinma should shun those behind the unpatriotic advice, pointing out that such individuals are the true enemies of the present Government given that such advice, in its entirety, is diametrically opposed to the vision and political philosophy of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma vis-a-vis his shared prosperity Government.
Otikpo who insisted that the plot to convince the Governor to reduce the ISOPADEC workforce is counter productive, stressed that such move will lead to socioeconomic dislocations of families and dependents of the workers who are Ohaeji/Egbema/ Oguta people. This will further precipitate the kind of ominous tensions that might lead to serious implosions which is sure to threaten the peace and stability of the volatile oil rich region. This is what NDYF is trying to guard against.
To this effect, Barr. Otikpo reiterated that it is within the ambits of NDYF's statutory mandates to promote peace and stability via citizens' consultative dialogue and public policy advocacy in the Niger Delta Region given that NDYF is an apex consultative body of all Niger Delta youths movements in the nine Niger Delta states.
The NDYF Chairman maintained that the body which epitomizes the people's ombudsman and advocates has successfully midwifed uncountable peace building and development initiatives in the nine states of the Niger Delta. Therefore, given that the President is from Ohaji/Egbema (Imo State), NDYF will not fold its hands and allow the peace and stability of Imo Oil producing areas to be compromised again, especially during the tenor of the current Governor who is a Patron of NDYF and an avid supporter of peace building and development initiatives in the Niger Delta.
Therefore, Barr. Otukpo maintained that it is the responsibility of NDYF to rightly advise the present Government in the state and ensure that it succeeds, noting that anything that can breach the existing peace and unity of purpose in the oil producing areas should be avoided.
The National Chairman used the opportunity of the Press Conference to sue for peace and also calm frayed nerves among the ISOPADEC workforce who are palpably threatened and miffed by the ill winds of rumors of their impending staff rationalization and mass sack.
Otikpo reassured them that NDYF will deploy its citizens consultative and advocacy frameworks to resolve the current issues surrounding their job stability in ISOPADEC under the current shared prosperity Government of Imo state.
He however, counseled them to take their jobs very seriously so as to continuously meet and surpass the various key performance indicators (KPIs) of their jobs to enable ISOPADEC meet its set organizational goals.
The NDYF Boss however, commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for showing capacity within a short period of time to change the narratives, noting that the body will do anything humanly possible to ensure that the Governor Succeeds in the area of peace building, stability and grassroots support from the oil rich region of the state.
According to him, "It is very imperative that we appreciate our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, because in a very short period of time as the Governor, he has proved to the people of Imo state that he has capacity to change the ugly narratives in the state. He has the capacity to upturn all negatives. He has the capacity to develop, to bring harmony and peace to the people of Imo state. We want to accord him that respect, we want to continue to work together with him, we want to encourage his Government and we are also wishing to be part of his government".
Barr Otikpo however used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Hope Uzodinma to ensure that the next ISOPADEC Managing Director is a member of NDYF irrespective ofLGA of origin, adding that NDYF has a massive pool of upwardly mobile professionals and careerists that posses the requisite skills and technocratic competencies needed to re-engineer and bring about the long needed organizational turnaround of ISOPADEC as a world class development institution that will deploy very innovative SDGs oriented and latest World Bank template-cized sector-wide approaches to rural development financing in OhajiEgbema / Oguta axis of Imo state.
