The newly elected executives of the Delta state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has received commendation for its peaceful, smooth and transparent conduct during its election.

Giving this commendation is the Delta state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in a statement issued and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Michael Ifeanyi Osuoza on Tuesday in Asaba.

In its statement, the PDP congratulated the newly elected Executives of the state chapter of the NUJ in what is described as a keenly contested election.

According to the statement, "the Delta State PDP warmly congratulates the newly elected Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Delta State Council, which emerged after a keenly contested election, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020”.

"We also salute the entire membership of the Delta NUJ for displaying great professional maturity and conducting a peaceful, transparent, and rancour-free election”.

"We note with satisfaction that the newly elected Exco, led by Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, who was returned as Chairman for a second term, is a team of tried and tested unionists and professionals, who will continue to deliver quality service to the union. We, therefore, urge all those who participated in the election to join hands with the new Exco to move Delta NUJ to greater heights”.
