NSCDC KADUNA COOPERATIVE FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF BIKES TO EASE STAFF MOBILITY

In a bid to ease transportation burden of its personnel, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Cooperative Investment and Credit Society, has acquired and distributed Cargo motorcycles to staff, promising to boost other welfare programmes for their wellbeing.

Speaking in an address of welcome to mark the distribution exercise, Chairman of the society, ASC Sunday Haruna, said 170 motorcycles were bought by the society for distribution to interested members.

In a statement signed by ASC Orndiir Terzungwe, CPRO on behalf of the State Commandant, Nurraddeen Abdullahi, Chairman of the society, Haruna explained that the measure has become necessary as a response to many requests by staff, saying his management team, which was inaugurated on January 20, 2021 is determined to improve on standard civil defenders have decided on the procurement and distribution of the motorcycles to ease the movement of would be beneficiaries to and from work at affordable rate.

The Chairman warned against intention to access the motorbikes and sell at reduced cost, stressing the plan of the cooperative was to make life comfortable for enhanced performance.

According to him, other programmes to boost the living standard of staff include disbursement of more funds into the Society’s Mini-mart, granting of facilities to offset school fees and rent subsidy of those in need among others.

Also speaking, State Commandant/Patron of the Cooperative society, Nurraddeen Abdullahi, commended the initiative of the cooperative and urged beneficiaries to use the motorcycles for the purposes they were acquired.

Represented by his deputy, DCC Aloysius Nnegha, the patron who also led the symbolic distribution of the bikes, stated the desire of the corps in improving on the welfare of officers and men as he handed over keys of a machine to a beneficiary.

A beneficiary, Wakili Ibrahim from Anti-Vandal unit who spoke shortly after been handed over keys of a machine, expressed delight on the gesture, saying it would definitely enable him to improve on his duties most especially on punctuality.

The repayment period for the machines is two years with less than ten percent interest rate per unit.
