EID-EL-FITR: ENSURE SURVEILLANCE AND SUPPORT THE CORPS.... Kaduna NSCDC Tells Residents

In a bid to ensure hitch free Eid-el-Fitr celebration, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State command is calling on residents and members of the public to ensure  surveillance and  support the corps in its operational activities.  

State Commandant, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, made the call at State Headquarters, noting that present threats to security are sumountable especially with support of the citizenry. 

According to Abdullahi, challenges of banditary and kidnapping among  others  bedevilling the state and nation in general are worrisome, noting efforts are being intensified to end it. 

He expressed the determination of the command in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure like railway, stressing that response to it has made the  command to arrest over ten suspected vandals and recovered over 1,600 Railway slippers. 

"The command is committed to end the ugly trend of whereby rail tracks are destroyed, however,  due to inadequate manpower to provide watertight security, vandals have continued to destroy our the tracks", Commandant said. 

Continuing however, he expressed optimism with support of some communities,  saying  many vandal suspects have been arrested in  the last four months and will face the full wrath  of the law. 

Abdullahi appealed to residents not to lose confidence in the response of agencies saddled with responsibilities of protecting lives and property. 

He discouraged  residents from vengeance on ill treatment meted to them by others, and rather suggested that such should be reported for appropriate measures. 

On how to prevent vulnerable group like children from the antics of criminals,  the Commandant advised parents and guardians to monitor the movement of their children and wards. 

He charged Muslim Ummah to pray for peaceful coexistence and congratulated them on the successful completion of Ramadan Fast and Eid-el-Fitr Celebration. 

In another development, the State Commandant in company of the command's 2i/c,  led other personnel in collecting the first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine at the command headquarters.
