IYC @23: Kaiama Declaration Will Be My Guiding Philosophy... Dr. Okotete

In commemoration of its 23rd anniversary celebration, the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC,Western Zone today congratulated all Ijaw youths in Delta, Edo and Ondo States just as she urged them to continue to participate in Council's activities.

The IYC Chairman, Dr Okotete made the call in a statement signed by IYC Information Officer, Lugard Izoukumor.

While commending the founding fathers of the IYC, Dr. Okotete said the agenda of the beautiful document of the Kaiama Declaration bequeath, will continue to be a guiding philosophy in his administration.

“We will not falter in agitating for our socioeconomic and sociopolitical advancement. Environmental justice is a moral cause. We will continue to engage all stakeholders for quality education in our Communities. For good infrastructure development plan. For water, and quality healthcare.”

He also enjoined Ijaw business and political leaders to invest in Ijaw youths stressing that, "if properly harnessed Ijaw youths are problem solvers."

“I congratulate the Zonal Exco for the unity of purpose. The unity in my exco is exemplary. We are here to serve Ijaw people and we will do that prudently.”
