STAMPEDE, PANDEMONIUM IN KADUNA METROPOLIS AS KASTLEA OPERATIVE KILLS KEKE OPERATOR

Pandemonium and anarchy was averted in the Ungwan Sarki area of Kaduna state on Friday, following the death of a tricycle (Keke Napep) operator owing to an altercation between himself and a Marshall of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA). 

According to reports monitored from Daily Trust, the incident, which happened around 4pm, led to a serious traffic gridlock in the area and its environs as motorists and commuters scampered for safety for fear of reactions from angry residents.

As at the time of filing this report, there were no clear details of what actually led to the altercation. 

However, eyewitnesses said the victim died as a result of an injury to his head head.

The eyewitness disclosed that the deceased was hit with a stick during the argument.

Police Public Relations Officer in charge of the Kaduna Police Command Headquarters, ASP Mohammed‎ Jalige while confirming the incident, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police Mudassiru Abdullahi had ordered the arrest of those behind the incident as the Police will commence full investigation.

Daily Trust gathered that as soon as the young man fell down, the KASTLEA agents left the scene for fear of being attacked by angry youths.

Contacted, the General Manager KASTLEA Corps, M‎ashal Garba Yahaya Rimi, said he is yet to receive the full details of what happened, therefore he could not comment on the issue.
