With several notable personalities, each in his own right, jostling for the delta central senatorial seat, come 2023, stakeholders in the delta state political space have continued to show case the individual capabilities of the various contenders and their strengths.

Many have touted the names of the various aspirants who can best represent the good people of delta central senatorial district in the Hallowed Upper Chambers of the National Assembly but in all, there has been a strong call for a candidate with the right exposure of mind, understanding and knowledge of the rudiments of national politics. 

Expectedly, such a candidate must be someone that would not sway, either through coercion or harassment, and certainly, not one with any baggage of sorts. In this regard, several names are been touted and bandied about as having the prerequisite requirement but, there is the strong need to remove the chaff from the grains if the senatorial district must push its best forward as the Senate is definitely not a place for political neophytes, grandstanding, dullards or the likes. The Upper Chambers of the National Assembly remains the place where political sagacity, exposure and class, is key.

In pushing forth its best candidate, aside of parochial sentiments and grand standing, Delta Central Senatorial District has one man who stands shoulders and heads taller than the other fledging politicians do. These other aspirants are lacking in the needed prerequisite experience of national politics.

The man is no other than, Ighoyota Amori, a tested hand in national politics, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and a consummate politician, leader of his people and of course, a critical stakeholder in the affairs of delta state.

Ighoyota Amori has been there in the Hallowed Upper Chamber of the National Assembly and participated in the administrative management of the PDP at its National Headquarters, serving as Political Adviser to two former National Chairmen of the PDP.

The “Odidimadi,” as he is fondly called by his teeming followers and supporters, has the experience and political verve to represent Delta Central Senatorial District and remove the garb of stigma adorned on the senatorial district.

Delta Central Senatorial District needs an Ighoyota Amori in the Senate as any other candidate will most likely, end up as a mere participant in the political discourse and development of its people.

We, the good people of delta central senatorial district at this point in time, do not need a “yes” man or someone without quality representation, sound and tenable sponsorship of motions, bills that will impact positively on the lives the good people of delta central senatorial district, the Urhobo nation and delta state at large.
