Rt. Hon. Rotimi C. Amaechi

.... Pays Condolence Visits To Families Of Late Rivers APC Supporters.

.... Appeals to Rivers State to unite and reclaim the State from the retrogressive marauders pillaging and misdirecting the State.

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described the love shown the former Minister of Transportation and Presidential aspirant, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, on his arrival to Port Harcourt, three weeks after the APC presidential convention, by the good people of Rivers State as indicative of the boundless, general acceptability the former Governor enjoys amongst the populace.

Recall that the former Governor was a major contender for the APC presidential ticket during the Special Convention of the party in Abuja where he proved himself a force in the politics of Nigeria after defeating a sitting Vice President Senate President to emerge first runner-up.

In a statement made available to media houses in Port Harcourt, the Party Chief said the warmth reception shown the former Minister by the good people of Rivers State simply demonstrates their boundless love, unalloyed support, unwavering loyalty and total acceptance of Amaechi as the trusted and incontrovertible political leader of all times.

Amaechi had returned to the State to strengthen, reassure, encourage and celebrate with his people after influencing the nomination of Hon. Udi Odum and Umana Okon Umana as Minister designates of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Rivers and Akwa Ibom States respectively as well as the reappointment of Prof Henry Ugboma as the Chief Medical Director of the University of Port Teaching Hospital (UPTH).

Eze highlighted that aside from visiting key stakeholders of the Rivers APC and the families of two party members - Barr. Motats Loveday and Hon. Onimitein Samuel, Secretaries of Degema and Akuku-Toru Local Government Chapters of the APC, who lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident on their way to Port Harcourt after the just concluded Presidential primaries in Abuja, Rt. Hon. Amaechi used his homecoming to task the good people of the state to strive towards ensuring the emergence of candidates of the APC, from Presidential to Assembly, by mobilising and strengthening their units to take advantage of the revolution ignited through the new Electoral Act and the dogged determination of INEC to eradicate every form of rigging and electoral malpractice during the 2023 general elections.

Allaying the fears of party faithful over the litigations against the party on the conduct of its primaries in the state, Amaechi described the litigants as troublemakers who want a repeat of the 2019 experience of the party in the state. He called on members of the party to join him in achieving the objective of returning the lost glory of Rivers State.

The former minister assured that he will address all the internal wranglings in the party that trailed his loss at the APC presidential primaries last month.

The party Chief described Amaechi as a great leader whose love for his people is infectious and should be motivated and encouraged to continue to give out his best for the country’s good.

Eze quoted Amb. Elder Prince Innocent as welcoming Amaechi thus: "welcome the lion of Niger Delta, the pride of Rivers State. You are indeed welcome. The crown of glory awaits you. You shall not see the winds nor the rain but your valley shall be filled with water. write it down, it shall come to pass. Remain mightily blessed".
