As nigerians continue in the search for credible leaders and representatives in the ongoing 2023 general elections, the Nigeria Police has warned against the spreading or circulation of alleged/fake elections results on social media and other news platforms, which is contrary to the policy and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Police, in a statement issued today and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer FPRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi mnipr mipra, Force Headquarters Abuja, has perceived this trend as a calculated attempt to heat up the polity and possibly create post elections chaos.

"The NPF urges Nigerians to remain calm, and go about their lawful engagements, while those who are billed to go to the polls today are requested to be orderly and law-abiding as we have re-enforced our security strategies for the smooth conclusion of the 2023 General Elections." CSP Adejobi stated

Many concerned stakeholders have, following the spread of fake election results, warned against its negative impact on the society and have therefore, commended the Police for its proactive measures in nipping the activities of these peddlers of fake news that most certainly, will hear up the polity.
