PORTABLE IN TROUBLE AGAIN .... Singer May Face Prosecution Following Unruly Conduct Punishable Under The Law, Says FPRO

"PORTABLE" Habeeb Okikiola, 

"The action of the singer in the video was unruly and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and incitement of violence against the officers who were detailed to execute a warrant of arrest on him for series of allegations of criminal acts leveled against Mr Portable." CSP Adejobi.

One of nigeria's controversial music star, Habeeb Okikiola better known in the entertainment industry as "Portable" is again in the news but this time around, not for the release of any album.

"Portable," known for his controversial music and acts, has this time around, gotten entangled with the Nigeria Police Force, following a viral video of him "exhibiting irrational behavior and hurling insults at Police Officers carrying out their legal duty."

Disclosing this on Wednesday, 29 March 2023 via a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi mnipr mipra said;

"The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the actions of one Habeeb Okikiola popularly known by his stage name Portable, in a viral video, where he was seen exhibiting irrational behavior and hurling insults at Police Officers carrying out their legal duty, an action which is criminal and punishable by the criminal laws of Nigeria.

"The action of the singer in the video was unruly and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and incitement of violence against the officers who were detailed to execute a warrant of arrest on him for series of allegations of criminal acts leveled against Mr Portable." CSP Adejobi stated.

He further noted in the statement that, "The NPF will take all necessary steps to investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity he may have committed depending on the severity of the offense."

The FPRO stressed that, "the Police will not condone any unruly act, assault or attack on its officers who are on lawful duty. 

"We need to respect our law enforcement agents who perpetually take the risk of maintaining law and order and fight crimes and criminality in our society." The statement concluded.

Meanwhile, some members of the Nigerian society have commended the NPF for its huge leap towards decorum especially its handling of civil relationship with the public under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba. 

They welcomed the change is the interpersonal relationship with the civil populace even in the face of provocation by certain persons in the society, pointing out the instance of music star, "Portable" who has been variously described as a bad influence to todays youths.

According to a member of the industry who asked not to be named, requested that the Nigeria Police Force should not allow the unruly conduct of "Portable" go free as that is capable of creating the wrong impression in the minds of other musicians or entertainers that law officers can be disrespected while carrying out their legitimate duties.

"Habeeb Okikiola, a.k.a Portable is more of nuisance to the society and the entertainment industry who needs to be straightened out, using the law." He said.
