HENRY DAVID WEDS HEARTHROB; COLLEAGUES, ASSOCIATES TROOP OUT IN CELEBRATION

"You are now part of our community for getting married to our daughter," His Royal Highness, Eze John. I. A. Ikwuadi, the Eze Alioma community, Omoku Onelga, Rivers State while handing over the bride to the groom.  

Henry David, a staff of the Department of Press and Public Relations in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing last week Saturday, stormed Omoku in River State with colleagues, family and friends for the traditional marriage rites of his hearthrob, Ireoma Noble.

Also on the train were journalists who are Correspondents covering the FMW&H as they all trooped out to celebrate with their own at the occasion.

Henry David at the event, completed the traditional rites as he paid the long list of demands for the bride price which officially, recognized him as husband to the bride and a member of the community. 

Omoku is a town located in Rivers State, South-south region of Nigeria and it is situated in the northern part of the state, sharing a common boundary with Delta State and Imo States. It is the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area and one of the major cities of the Ogba people and Rivers State of Nigeria.

It is also the capital seat of the Oba of Ogba land. 

The traditional marriage in Omoku is held in high esteem by the people and as expected, the groom has to fulfill rigorous conditions before the marriage ceremony can be performed.

At the wedding ceremony, Henry David who performed his marital rights, said; "I am full of joy, and thank God Almighty for giving me the grace to celebrate  today after a long wait to meet the conditions attached to the traditional wedding."

An excited bride, Ireoma Noble David while describing the ceremony as a joyous occasion, said; "It is a thing of joy and happiness to marry David. There were hindrances during the wedding preparation but I thank God that we were able to overcome them."

The father of the bride, Mr Ogarabe Albert while advising the couple in their new status as husband and wife, said "marriage is the most important contract on earth, ordained by God Almighty and it is by going close to God that it can be fulfilled without problems. I advise both of you to pray together and pay your tithes regularly."

The Director of Publicity, Nigeria Legion Morenike Henry who represented the family of the  groom, called on the new couple to cooperate with one another as they undertake the journey of life together.

She said; "the groom and the bride have to cooperate in order for their marriage to work and must show maturity in handling domestic issues." 

The climax of the marriage ceremony was when the King, His Royal Highness,  Eze John. I. A. Ikwuadi, the Eze Alioma community, Omoku Onelga, Rivers State, handed over the bride to the groom. He said: "You are now part of our community for getting married to our daughter."

The event was well attended by government officials, traditional rulers and members of the society
