INTERIOR MINISTER COMMENDS NSCDC FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE

Following the visit of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has commended officers and men of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps for their exemplary display and parade in his honour during his familiarization visit to their Headquarters.

The Minister lauded the innovative, dynamic and patriotic display in their operations, saying; "With what I witnessed from the officers and men, I do not see any security challenge that the Corps cannot surmount."

He made the commendation during his day two familiarisation tour to formations under the supervision of his Ministry, on Thursday, in Abuja.

The Minister, in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations Department of the Ministry, Mr. Afonja Fatai Ajibola, assured the Commandant General of the Corps that the President and Command in Chief of the Arm Force, Bola Ahmed Tinubu would support the Corps to succeed.

"President Tinubu is very passionate about security, as such he would support you," Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo assured.

At the event, he also granted automatic promotion to two female officers of the corps who were African champions for their exceptional performance in karate.

He emphasised that it is time to reward excellent performance in order to encourage others adding that everybody must key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. 

The Minister was incredibly amazed with the display of the female squad of  NSCDC where he acknowledged that he is educated of the corps capacity and he advised that there should be adequate publicity for Nigerians to be informed and be assured that the country is secured.

He subsequently thanked the security agency for their service and he assured that the country would reward them adequately.

Similarly, while in Federal Fire Service, the Minister conveyed the appreciation of  Mr. President for the agency's services, he said what they do is indispensible, as such they can never be thanked enough.

He said issues of fire fighting are such that cannot be ignored. The Renewed Hope Agenda is here to improve their operational facilities, provide modern equipment and develop their capacity for efficiency.

Dignitaries in attendance include the Permanent Secretary, Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade, Directors and staff in the Ministry.
