DELTA CLERIC WHO SURVIVED TANKER EXPLOSION GIVES THANKSGIVING IN CHURCH ..... Says Many Died But God Spared His Life

Pastor Glory Redemption Michael Asiughwure, General Overseer of the Royal Diadem Apostolic Church, RDAC in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has revealed that many people, unfortunately died in the petrol tanker explosion that took place along the Koko-Ugbenu road in Delta state earlier this month.

The cleric said many sustained grievous injuries and were hospitalised as a result of the ugly incident. 

Pastor Redemption disclosed this during a family prayer summit organised by RDAC.

He thanked God Almighty for sparing his life in the incident.

Pastor Asiughwure disclosed to the congregation that God Almighty revealed the incident to him before he embarked on a journey from a western State. 

The cleric revealed that he was trapped in a vehicular traffic when he was returning from a missionary journey with one of his pastors that fateful day.

"I told one of my pastors who was with me and he became afraid.

"The guy was moving up and down, not knowing he was afraid. Few minutes to 12pm, I said let us even go and see what these people are doing."

He explained that by the time they got to the very spot, they saw people including children scooping fuel from a fallen tanker.

"Children were selling fuel. They were evening dragging price. I said this thing they are doing is bad.

"At about 4 minutes after 12am, I asked my pastor, let us leave this place. We just turned back, the place went up in flames. All the people that we saw scooping fuel, they all got roasted. Pastor run leave G.O (General Overseer) without waiting to find out whether fire done reach where he dey."

According to him, "I was running. I looked back whether fire done reach where I dey and before I know, I jam car parked on its own. I summersault go back. 

"We were running because the wife and children were inside the car sleeping and I said; Emma run to the car, your wife and children are sleeping. I entered the car with reverse. It was because of me that had the mind to enter my car, many other cars escaped. People were roasted. People that were coming from a journey tired, were sleeping inside their vehicles.

"When went back back again, people were lying down, they were rushed to the hospitals. The hospitals in the town were filled. We are not the best but God saved my life and that of my Pastor with his wife. That's why we are here thanking God."

Delivering a sermon on the family prayer summit with the theme, "A new song," Pastor Donatus Abiamuwe thanked God Almighty for sparing and preserving the life of Pastor Redemption and for averting sorrows from his ministry.

The cleric drew his text from Psalm 40:1-5 amongst others as he urged the audience to be very obedient to God's instructions in the midst of challenges of life and never ignore if they must get a new song.

He added that they should not question God because of challenges and never take to the worship of other gods but be patient with God Almighty as well as be consistent in prayers.

Highpoint of the ceremony was a special thanksgiving to God Almighty by Pastor Asiughwure, his family and members of RDAC.

Our Correspondent had reported that a petrol tanker exploded in the early hours of Sunday October 1, 2023 leaving many who went to scoop fuel, dead.
