SHEHU SANI SLAMS EL-RUFAI: "You Did Nothing To Address Insecurity During Your 8 Years As Governor."
"In Bethel Baptist High School, I was there after the kidnapping happened and I saw how women sold their homes, lands and personal possessions to gather money and pay ransom and the state government in Kaduna did nothing at that time." Shehu Sani
"Parents of the Bethel Baptist High School gathered over ₦280 million that was given to the terrorists. If there are no powerful hand behind it, the kidnappers would have been arrested."
A human rights activist and political commentator, Senator Shehu Sani who is well known for speaking truth to political leaders and government, not minding whose ox is gored, has come down hard on the immediate past Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai for paying lip service towards addressing security concerns during his right years stint as Governor.
Comrade Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District from 2011-2015, stated this recently as he urged the Federal Government to immediately take action against terrorism and kidnaping in Kaduna State saying clearly that there are powerful forces behind kidnappings and terrorism in Kaduna State, when el-Rufai was the governor.
He lambasted the former Governor who failed to secure a Ministerial clearance by the National Assembly to serve in the Tinubu administration, saying Mallam Nasir El-Rufai did absolutely nothing to resolve the insecurity problems in the state when he was the Governors.
Shehu Sani stated these during an interview on Trust TV's 'Daily Politics' Programme, monitored by Daily Post.
Speaking further, Senator Shehu Sani described Kaduna State as "the only state where we have consistency in kidnapping in schools." He recalled how terrorists attacked the Greenfield University and kidnapped and killed students some months back including attack on Bethel Baptist School in Kajuru and the College of Agric and Mechanisation. All of these happened under El-Rufai's watch.""In Bethel Baptist High School, I was there after the kidnapping happened and I saw how women sold their homes, lands and personal possessions to gather money and pay ransom and the state government in Kaduna did nothing at that time."
In addition, Shehu Sani noted that the parents of the Bethel Baptist High School gathered over ₦280 million that was given to the terrorists, noting that "if there are no powerful hand behind it, the kidnappers would have been arrested."
