Nigeria's Minister for Works, Engr Nweze David Umahi in the drive to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, on Tuesday met with his counterpart in the Federal Ministry of Environment, Mr. Balarabe Abbas Lawal as part of the need to improve on innovative initiatives and foster sense of inter-ministerial collaboration aimed at tackling different developmental challenges facing the nation.

The meeting, which held behind closed doors, is part of measures put in place by Engr Nweze Umahi that are geared towards thinking out of the framewall of the box in repositioning the Works Ministry for better service delivery to the country, factored on the overarching role, professionalism and expertise of members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Journalists and other stakeholders into the holistic drive of road development in the country.

According to Barr Orji Uchenna Orji, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister of Works, "the essence of the meeting is closing the deficit as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda mantra."

The mandate of the Federal Ministry of Environment which focuses on innovative strategies that emphasize the use of environmental re – engineering as a veritable tool for job creation, poverty eradication, food security, sustainable economic development and general improvement in the livelihood of Nigerians requires a great deal of the works sub- sector to be actualized.
