The Federal Ministry of Works, under the leadership of the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr David Nweze Umahi, has expressed its worries over the escalating cost of cement.

Umahi, on Friday in a statement disclosed the discomfort and concerns of the government of the escalating price of the commodity despite huge patronage by road and housing contractors to cement manufacturers.

In the statement which was signed by his Special Adviser, Media, Barr Orji Uchenna Orji, the Minister of Works, has therefore summoned an urgent meeting of all cement manufacturers in Nigeria.

Those invited are:

1. Dangote Plc,

2.  BUA Plc 

3.  Larfarge and others.

The statement notes that the meeting shall hold as follows:

Date:  19th February, 2024.

Venue:  Federal Ministry of Works, Mabushi-Abuja

Time:  1 pm prompt.
