INTERIOR AFFAIRS MINISTRY STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH NCPC

The Ministry of Interior and the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) have initiated a collaborative partnership that will further enhance synergy in the discharge of their respective responsibilities and better serve the Nigerian populace. 

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who was represented at the meeting by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to providing unwavering support to the NCPC across all necessary aspects of its activities, particularly in upholding citizenship integrity, when a delegation led by the Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry.

“The Executive Secretary's call for collaboration and assistance in expediting the issuance of passports for pilgrims and board members requiring special travel documents resonates deeply with our mission to facilitate seamless travel experiences for all Nigerian citizens. 

“I am also heartened by the NCPC's unwavering commitment to fostering a collaborative partnership to advance the objectives of Mr. President's renewed hope agenda. Indeed, such partnerships are integral to realizing our collective vision of a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

“As a Ministry, we will continue to work hand in hand with the NCPC to streamline administrative processes, promote the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and contribute to the socio-economic development of our nation,” the Minister said.

The Minister also extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Secretary of the NCPC on his well-deserved appointment.

In response, Bishop Adegbite expressed gratitude to the Ministry for extending a warm reception and hosting its delegation, highlighting the long-standing relationship between the Commission and the Ministry.

He said: “Being Executive Secretary of the NCPC at this time presents an opportunity to revitalize Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria and I express sincere gratitude for the invaluable support extended by the Ministry of Interior, aptly represented on our board.

“I am here to seek your collaboration and assistance in expediting the issuance of passports for pilgrims and board members requiring special travel documents to ease our movement among nations. 

“The NCPC also remains fully committed to fostering a collaborative partnership with you to advance the objectives of Mr. President's Renewed Hope Agenda”.

Bishop Adegbite added that in light of the global economic recession, it was important for well-meaning Nigerians to extend a hand of fellowship to those in need, particularly during this solemn season of Lent. 

“I am confident that our joint efforts will not only strengthen Christian pilgrimage but also contribute to the broader goals of unity, empathy, and national progress,” the Executive Secretary said.

The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) is a government agency established in 2007 under the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission Act to facilitate, regulate, and coordinate Christian pilgrimage activities in Nigeria.
