National Youth Alliance Unveils Ambitious Plans for Job Creation, Health Insurance For Students, Free Education, and Technical Training

"The NYA shall introduce Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) designed to provide young people with a smooth transition from education to employment. This innovative program will ensure that students leave school and college with confidence in their future prospects". Statement says.

A political group under the aegis of the National Youth Alliance has announced a comprehensive package of initiatives aimed at empowering young people and driving economic growth.

Revealing the plans of the NYA to newsmen in Kano on Friday in a jointly signed statement, the National Youth Leader of the NYA, Comrade Hamzah Nasarawa, and the Director of Internal and Student Affairs, Comrade Abdulrahman Bala, explained that the NYA is a political movement seeking registration as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 

The statement stated that when elected, "the NYA shall introduce Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) designed to provide young people with a smooth transition from education to employment. This innovative program will ensure that students leave school and college with confidence in their future prospects".

The statement further read as follows;

"The NYA shall implement free and quality education from crèche up to junior secondary levels, making quality education accessible to all irrespective of social status and economic background.

We shall reintroduce technical and vocational education, so as to equip young people with the skills and expertise needed to succeed in today's fast-paced economy.

When elected in government in 2027, we shall introduce a Student Discount Card for individuals aged 16-21, providing discounts on bus and rail travel.

We shall develop a Health Insurance Scheme for students, christened the "Student Guarantee," to ensure access to healthcare and support for students in higher institutions, particularly those with long-term health conditions or caring responsibilities.

In addition to these, the NYA shall take a long-term approach to supporting business and industry, providing access to credit, skilled workers, and infrastructure. This comprehensive strategy aims to create a favorable environment for job creation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.

With these initiatives, the NYA is demonstrating its commitment to tackling the challenges faced by young people and promoting a brighter future for all", the statement concluded.
