SENATOR LA, STAKEHOLDERS STORM LAGOS FOR RETREAT ON BASIC EDUCATION

The desire by stakeholders to ensure that Nigerians acquire quality education especially at foundational levels in the country, saw government and key players attending a retreat that aims to promote basic education.

The retreat which held in Lagos penultimate week, with the theme; Basic Education implementation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges, and Way Forward, also aims to address issues and challenges facing the basic education sub sector in Nigeria.

Notable personalities in attendance at the retreat include, the distinguished Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, Chairman Senate Committee on Basic Education alongside members of his committee and other relevant stake holders in the education sector.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Basic Education, Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, himself a highly commited philanthropist whose support to hundreds of less privileged members of the society in his home state of Kaduna and beyond, in terms of educational sponsorship that cuts across all levels of study, believes strongly that without the proper foundations for our children, the future remains bleak.
