NERC: 8 DisCos Sanctioned for Non-Compliance With Estimated Bill Caps.

Eight Distribution Companies, DISCO's across the country have been sanctioned by the regulatory body; National Electricity Regulatory  Commission, NERC for failing to comply with monthly energy caps for unmetered customers between July and September 2024. 

The affected DisCos include Abuja, Eko, Enugu, Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, and Yola.

NERC, in a statement via its website, disclosed that "the aforementioned DISCO's have been fined over N628 million and must issue credit adjustments to affected customers by May 15, 2025."

The statement reinstated the commitment of NERC to ensuring regulatory compliance and consumer protection in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
