.... "The awards also place the Crisis Communication Hub among initiatives receiving international recognition for applying technology and research to contemporary crisis-management and public communication challenges."
"The global recognition was conferred on the partners for their work on the establishment of the Crisis Communication Hub (CCHub), an innovative national framework developed from an empirical research study on the application of artificial intelligence to crisis management, supported by NITDA.
"The initiative is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to anticipate, manage and communicate effectively during crises, particularly in an increasingly digital environment."
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has clinched two prestigious 2026 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards (GWA) in recognition of its innovative communication and crisis-management initiatives.
NITDA, in collaboration with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) and the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC), secured the awards at the prestigious international ceremony held in Athens, Greece.
The agency emerged winner in the Artificial Intelligence in Crisis Management and Publication categories, further placing Nigeria’s digital innovation and strategic communication efforts on the global stage.
The recognition followed the submission and assessment of initiatives developed through collaboration between NITDA, IMPR and CCC, highlighting the application of technology, strategic communication and innovative approaches to addressing contemporary communication challenges.
The awards underscore the growing role of artificial intelligence and digital tools in strengthening crisis communication, while also recognising the importance of quality publications in advancing public information and stakeholder engagement.
The achievement also reflects NITDA’s expanding engagement with strategic communication partners to showcase Nigeria’s digital transformation efforts and communicate the impact of technology-driven initiatives to local and international audiences.
The latest recognition therefore adds to Nigeria’s growing visibility in the global digital and communications space, with NITDA’s collaboration with IMPR and CCC demonstrating how technology and strategic communication can be deployed to address complex public-interest challenges.
