TCN, Imcomtel Inspect Katsina Substation Ahead Of Major Installation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Katsina Sub-Region, and Imcomtel Engineering Limited have conducted a joint inspection of the Katsina 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation Project ahead of its next major installation phase.

The inspection, which took place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, was led by the Assistant General Manager (Transmission), Usman Idris, representing TCN, alongside representatives of Imcomtel Engineering Limited led by Emmanuel Okafor.

The inspection team assessed the level of work done at the project site, with particular attention to the civil works and other facilities required for the installation and commissioning of the substation equipment.

The project includes the provision of major power transformation infrastructure, with two 100MVA transformers already delivered to the site on July 9, 2026.

The team also inspected four control rooms and other critical components of the substation, assessing their readiness for the next phase of equipment installation.

During the inspection, TCN and Imcomtel officials reviewed the technical requirements for the installation, as well as the need to ensure that all supporting civil and electrical works are completed to the required standards.

The inspection is part of efforts to ensure that the Katsina transmission project progresses according to specifications and is delivered to enhance the capacity and reliability of electricity transmission in the region.

The project, upon completion, is expected to strengthen the transmission network and improve power supply capacity within Katsina and adjoining areas.
