2027: Tinubu needs more time to consolidate reforms, says Tompolo
"The economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are yielding results and require more time to be consolidated." High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, a.k.a Tompolo, Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
.... Urges Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election, saying continuity would enable the reforms to stand the test of time.
"There is no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa, Aso Rock is for President Tinubu.” Sunday Asuku, National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
The Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has said the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are yielding results and require more time to be consolidated.
Tompolo, therefore, urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election, saying continuity would enable the reforms to stand the test of time.
He spoke in Damaturu, Yobe State, on Friday, during the unveiling of campaign vehicles donated to the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress by the movement to support grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Represented at the event by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, Kester Pondi, Tompolo said Tinubu’s policies had increased resources available to state governments, enabling them to execute more projects and meet their salary and pension obligations.
He said, “President Bola Tinubu's policies have been wonderful. They have helped our governors to have more money for projects. They have put more money in the states than ever before.
“Today, your state governors have money to execute projects, your governors don't owe salaries and pensions and that is because of the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu which are yielding results.”
Tompolo likened the ongoing reforms to road rehabilitation, noting that although such processes could come with challenges, the benefits became evident once completed.
According to him, the gains of the reforms were already being seen in areas such as local government autonomy and increased revenue accruing to states.
He added, “We are telling you that if you want these reforms which have made local government autonomy and steady salary payment possible to be consolidated, you must vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“Re-elect the President for continuous reforms that will stand the test of time.”
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, urged residents of Yobe to reject the opposition parties, accusing them of attempting to deceive Nigerians.
Asuku, who thanked the people of the state for their support, said, “The landgrabbers are out to deceive Nigerians again but we have come to tell you that collectively, we should tell them a resounding no. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa, Aso Rock is for President Tinubu.”
He also highlighted what he described as the gains of the Tinubu administration, particularly increased allocations to state governments from the Federation Account.
According to Asuku, the increased revenue had enabled governments to provide roads, housing, water, electricity and other infrastructure.
“He (Tinubu) has done a lot and we must give him more time to do more so that we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“Mobilise from door-to-door, street-to-street, area-to-area, farm-to-farm, settlement-to-settlement and vote APC from top to bottom,” he said.
In his remarks, the Yobe State Governor and Deputy Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Mai Mala Buni, commended the movement for its mobilisation efforts.
Buni, who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, said the APC had overwhelming support in the state, insisting that there was little need to campaign for the party in Yobe.
He assured the movement of victory for Tinubu, adding that the state had restructured its campaign machinery from the state to ward levels ahead of the elections.
The high point of the event was the distribution of campaign vehicles and other materials to facilitate the movement’s door-to-door mobilisation across Yobe State.
