MAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER EJECTION FROM HOME



FOR DEFAULTING ON HIS RENT, MAN COMMITS SUICIDE

After two unsuccessful attempts to commit suicide, a young man simply identified as Femi has been found dead at an uncompleted building following his ejection from his apartment at the Abaranje Ikotun area of Lagos state.

According to reports available to NAIJNEWSALERT, the incident occurred inside an uncompleted building at 27 Alhaji Northerner Street in Abaranje by K/S bus stop in Ikotun area where he lived before he was sent away.

Residents of the neighbourhood said he was suspected to have committed suicide as it was discovered that he was foaming and discharging substance.

Reports gathered state that, the owner of the house got the police to evict the late Femi popularly known as Fela from his one-room apartment after he was discharged from hospital for alleged suicide attempts in the house, as he was said to have jumped into a water well but fortunately, was rescued.

According to residents, the decision by the Landlord stemmed from the fact that the late Femi was asked to leave the house after he failed to disclose his identity or call any relative shortly after he survived an attempt to commit suicide.

Following his purported refusal to comply after the incident, the landlord sent him away from his apartment and packed his property in front of another building in the area.

Based on the development and according to sources, he had no choice than to relocate to an uncompleted building in the area where he was found dead.

The Landlords’’ Association has reported the matter to the police at the Ikotun Division who have visited the scene and recovered his body which has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.

However, police sources have confirmed the incident and said the police have commenced investigation on the matter and that it is the autopsy report that will determine the actual cause of his death.

According to some residents, the late Femi was a hard working young man who claimed to be related to the late Afrobeat legend, Fela.
