"The NOW Disease and The Nigerian Electorates"...EKITI YOUTHS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Nigerian electorates have over time, sold their electoral powers and strength to political aspirants thereby, forfeiting their control; vis-a-vis, their power to place quality checks on who governs them.

The quality of persons elected into office has shown that, instead of hoding the reins of governace, the electorates have, deliberately sold their patrimony for a bowl poridge which serves them for only one meal while the "elected person" controls their destiny for four whole years. Who loses?

Aspirants for the Governorship ticket for the exalted seat in Ekiti state; the Southwest state which prides itself as the cradle of knowledge in Nigeria, come 2018 are expressing their desire to provide qualitative leadership devoid of selfish and dictatorial tendencies.

Lekan Fagbemi in his quest to unravel this mystery whereby, the electorates who ought to be in cotrol of their affairs but have instead sold off their stake for just a bowl of porridge, has asked;

"WHO ARE THE GOOD PEOPLE OF EKITI STANDING WITH"?

Among the aspirants gunning for the tickets are some very notable personalities who are genuinely passionate in their desire to provide that quality service to the good people of Ekiti state where, dignity, transparency, true and sincere humility, respect for all and most especially, the fear of God is put before all.

According to some stakeholders, "If we want to be truthful to ourselves for our today, tomorrow & our children's future, we must heal ourselves of the "NOW DISEASE".

The "NOW DISEASE" has sadly, become our bane as electorates whose concern does not extend beyond the "today".

Nigerian electorates have unfortunately adopted the mentality of seeking from aspirants, elected and appointed officers, tokens and pittances instead of qualitative service. They lack the powers to demand for quality leadership because, they ate their future, yesterday.

This is when we only think of and collect the crumbs and peanuts doled out to satisfy our immediate needs. We are bound to succeed if we are able to  identify what kind of future we want for ourselves and our generations to come and then, make a conscious effort to collectively sacrifice a little to achieve  such.

The time has come when, as electorates desirous of quality leadership, we must come out to stand with the one man who will give Ekiti state and her people what they truly deserve. There is the strong need to identify that candidate with genuine zeal to serve and sacrifice for the people. That man is God fearing, humble, sincere and accessible and ready to see everybody as stakeholders.

That man is Dr. Makanjuola Akindele Owolabi; DR. MAO.

We can do it without mortgaging our future and that of our unborn children by standing with the right aspirant/candidate for the genuine development of the pride of Ekiti state.

So, come on brothers and sisters, let us say a big NO to deceits and manipulations and take our destinies in our hands by partnering with a leader who is  intelligent, with a Sincerity of purpose, reliable and God fearing who will see us as Stakeholders and not as pawns on a Chess Board.

As a people, we must stand with anybody that stands for our rights as human beings and as Stakeholders of this our Commonwealth.

So, we the Good people of Ekiti, the Land of Knowledge, Honor & Dignity Stand with; DR. MAKANJUOLA AKINDELE OWOLABI (DR MAO)
