ABUJA MASS RAIL TRANSIT: BLACK OUT ALMOST MARS EVENT WITH PRESIDENT BUHARI IN ATTENDANCE

President Muhammadu Buhari
A sudden power outage at the commissioning of Abuja Mass Rail Transit (ARMT) caused an embarrassing situation on Thursday just as President Muhammadu Buhari was being announced to deliver his keynote address.

This left many invited guests embarrassed with many openly expressing their dissatisfaction with organizers,  as many were heard murmuring.

Chief Host and Minister of the Federal Capital Terrorism (FCT), Mohammed Bello and the China Ambassador, Zhou Pingjian, had no problems while reading their individual speeches without any hitch until it was time for the President, Muhammadu Buhari was to mount the podium when suddenly, the temporary tent, which was used for the event was thrown into darkness.
However, an unperturbed President Buhari went ahead to read his speech using a battery powered public address system.

Some of the invited guests were overheard saying that the unfortunate incident must have been deliberate to embarrass the President.

The power was later restored about five minutes before the president ended his speech.

Speaking with Naij News Alert, a source who pleaded not to be named, said time has come for organizers of such events to stop embarrassing Nigeria and our President.

"We should outgrow such embarrassing situations by either ensuring that there are automatic switch overs or, better still, use solar powered lightings and support systems", the source stated.
