BUHARI'S HEALTH: Nigerians Query President's Medical Tourism..... "The President has used the medical team for over 40 years", Adesina

"Buhari could not be treated in Nigeria because he has his own age-long medical team in the United Kingdom and ignoring them for Nigeria doctors will jeopardize his health".... Adesina.

"Improving the country's health sector and upgrading the institutions, facilities and personnel to meet up with global standards which, in the long term, would curtail huge drain on the nation's scare foreign resources on medical tourism".... Nigerians.

Emerging reports monitored from Channels TV have thrown more light as to why Nigeria's President, General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.) has over the years, since becoming the country's leader, consistently shunned receiving treatment in his own country.

This revelation emerged following negative reactions to the President's recent decision to undertake another visit to see his medical doctors in the United Kingdom.

Making known why the President has consistently taken this decision, is Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Adesina, while speaking on Channels Tv, he said; "the President has used the medical team for over 40 years, hence the need to continue seeking medical help from them instead of changing them".

It is recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday, departed Abuja for London to enable him to attend the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025 in the UK.

Adesina, during the live interview with Channels, said that Buhari could not be treated in Nigeria because he has his own age-long medical team in the United Kingdom and ignoring them for Nigeria doctors will jeopardize his health.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday departed Abuja for London to enable him to attend the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025 in the UK.

Many Nigerians have lambasted the President for not improving the country's health sector and upgrading the institutions, facilities and personnel to meet up with global standards which, in the long term, would curtail huge drain on the nation's scare foreign resources on medical tourism, being undertaken by political leaders.

While some nigerians have expressed their worries and concerns on the secrecy surrounding the nature and health status of President Muhammadu Buhari, others have described the president's health status as his private concern that should not be open to public discourse. This has been described as total hogwash by political pundits who say the President and his health concerns and status cannot be kept private owing to the fact that he is a public Citizen; catered and provided for by taxpayers in the country. This view is supported by many who are now demanding for a a disclosure as to what exactly is the status of their Number One Citizen.
