DELTA @ 30: EMEYESE HAILS DELTANS, Says The State Is Uniquely Blessed

Erstwhile federal lawmaker and Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party, Olorogun (Barr). Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese has congratulated Delta State at 30.

Emeyese, in a statement personally signed by him, Thursday, affirmed that the virtues of peace, unity and good neighbourliness are factors that have continued to engender Delta's growth to this stage, noting that our will to understand our unique differences as a multi-ethnic people and demonstrate unity in diversity at all times is most crucial to sustained peace, progress and our collective existence as a federating unit in the Nigerian State.

"Delta State no doubt is uniquely blessed. Despite being a melting pot of cultural and ethnic orientations, our will to build a state that has come to be the cynosure of all eyes has been the motivation behind our numerous victories across several spheres of life. From politics to economy, from peacebuilding to cultural growth, from sports to human capacity building, Delta State pride itself as an exemplar. These we have been able to achieve because we have resolved to work as a united people blessed by God to be the shining light in the Nigerian State"

The Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor lauded the sterling leadership qualities of Olorogun Felix Ibru, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, whose respective tenures as Executive Governors of Delta State has helped in no small measure in driving the needed structural and socioeconomic growth for Delta's sustained growth the commity of States. 

He particularly extolled Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's leadership prowess and governance policy consolidating on the gains of his predecessors in the realization of a Delta State determined to entrench prosperity for all.

"Of particular significance is that as we commemorate the creation of Delta State at 30,  we must appreciate the leadership capacities and invaluable contributions of our administrative Chief Executives since the creation of Delta State in 1991. Olorogun Felux Ibru, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Delta Emmanuel Uduaghan and our incumbent Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa have distinguished themselves as committed drivers of the Delta project. There is no denying that the peace and development we enjoy today would not have been possible without their commitment to the establishment of a state we can proudly call our home"

Olorogun Sunny Emeyese called on all sons and daughters of Delta to always pursue peace and unity as this is the surest way to the sustaining and improving upon our gains as a state. He noted that as a people, we can only do much if we pursue peace and good neighbourliness at all times.
