REHABILITATION OF WARRI REFINERY: ACTIVISTS LAUDS BUHARI OVER APPROVAL.... A Sign That Our Struggles Are Yielding Positive Results.

Popular Human Rights Activist in the Niger Delta, South-South region of Nigeria, Comrade Israel Joe has commended the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government for its approval for the rehabilitation of the Warri refinery. 

The commendation is contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen.

He said; "This is, and but a sign that our struggles are yielding positive results."

According to Comrade Joe, "We are glad that a whopping $586 million dollars have been earmarked for the Warri refinery rehabilitation duly approved by the FEC yesterday, which of course would put us in the economic hub in the region after completion. 

"We shall ensure a follow-up on the process and ensure we track the funds to be used for the purpose for which it was approved.

"We want to thank the government for the resumption of the airport and also remind the federal authorities that our letters for the Warri Seaport and Premium Steel companies are also on their tables so they could expedite actions as well."

Comrade Joe and others had during #ENDSARS# protests in Delta State in October 2020, demanded for the rehabilitation of the Warri refinery, reopening of Osubi Airstrip, the rehabilitation of the Delta or Premium Steel Company and the Nigeria Ports Authorities (NPA) Warri as well as the rejections of Police brutality, extortion, harassment and extra-judicial killings.
