CSO's Will Shutdown Nigeria's Economy If You Increase Fuel Prices, N/Delta Activist, Israel Joe Tell FG

"We listened gleefully to the speech of the president and it wasn’t clear if the subsidy would be removed or not.

A Niger Deltan Activist, Comrade Israel Joe today threatened that the Civil Society Organizations, CSO will shutdown the economy the moment Federal Government of Nigeria announce any hike in petroleum products.

Joe handed down the threat in a statement signed and made available to our Correspondent in Warri.

While noting that the CSOs in Delta State will meet on Friday to take a decision on this, Joe said, "I can say conveniently and confidentially that we will shut the economy down and Delta State will never play a second fiddle to the struggle."

According to Joe, "Nigerians will no longer tolerate the hardship brought upon us by this government. 

"We listened gleefully to the speech of the president and it wasn’t clear if the subsidy would be removed or not.

"However, we have gotten from reliable source that the Federal Government of Nigeria has planned to remove subsidy from petrol products towards end of January or February.

"Let it be on record that the federal government of Nigeria has not put forth any superior logical argument about the advantages of removing the longed acclaimed subsidy, as, it has never reflected on the lives of an average Nigerian, rather than suffering, pains, insecurity and stress."
