Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta State chapter, has appaluded the emergence of Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa as the most acceptable running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON the Presidential flagbearer of the party, for the 2023 Presidential elections.

Okowa's emergence, according to Chief Onuesoke, elicited wide commendations from PDP loyalists and political observers in Delta state and beyond, owing to his deft handling of national assignments that produced positive and qualitative results.

Onuesoke, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, described the selection of the Delta State Governor as a wise decision by top leaders of the party.

Onuesoke, a former Governorship aspirant of the party, noted that the PDP needed someone of Okowa's pedigree, astuteness and finesse to support the political pragmatism of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, to win the elections, come 2023.

He congratulated the Delta State Governor for his dedication and loyalty to the PDP since its formation in 1998 including his immense contributions to the party, both at the state and federal levels.

"Okowa has what it takes to effectively manage the office of Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and I am very certain that he will rein back on his immense leadership experience to support the President win elections, come 2023." He stated.

Onuesoke appealed to all members of the party to sheathe their sword and drop their disenchantments for the good of the party and Nigerians.

"The success of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Delta state and Nigeria in general, remains paramount and this is the task before everyone of us. Let us move on and deliver the party back to power," he said.
