BOUNDARY DISPUTE: Group Warns Warri Southwest LG Chairman, Taye Tuoyo .... Stop Blackmailing Your Counterpart, Jite Before Gov Oborevwori, Military.
A social political pressure group, Aladja Oneness today warned the Warri South-West Council Chairman, Mr. Taye Duke Tuoyo to stop blackmailing his Udu Local Government counterpart, Hon. Jite Brown before Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the military in their land as well as stop reigniting the age long war between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities.
The group handed down the warning in a statement signed by its President, Oghenekevwe Temu.
The group, in the statement, pointed out that Mr. Tuoyo is trying to reignite the crisis now that there is relative peace.
"The action of the Warri South-West Council boss could result to shootings and killings between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities." It stated.
The group added that the Delta State Government, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the relevant Security Agencies should hold Mr. Tuoyo responsible for any shootings and killings between the Communities.
"Tuoyo should stop reporting Aladja people to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the military. Governor Sheriff should come and visit Aladja if he is serious so that, he can get first hand assessment instead of relying on Taye Tuoyo."
The group urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to as a matter of urgency summon the leadership of both communities to a meeting with a view to resolve the crisis between them rather than take sides with Mr. Tuoyo who is described as a "warmonger".
According to the group, "Mr. Tuoyo allegedly truncated the boundary demarcation between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities and is trying to convey building materials through Aladja to work in the Secretariat at Ogbe-Ijoh in violation to an order by the military."
The group stated that the people of Aladja Community resisted the moves by Mr. Tuoyo saying unless the Delta State Government settles the boundary demarcation amicably, nobody will be allowed to convey any item(s) through their land to Ogbe-Ijoh.
It pointed out that the military had on several occasions called for a meeting between the communities with a view to see that boundary demarcation is settled peacefully but the Ogbe-Ijoh people had also truncated same with a claim that they own the whole land including where Aladja is situated.
