SENATOR LA MOVES FOR SPEEDY COMPLETION OF THE ABUJA-KADUNA EXPRESSWAY ..... Says The Route Is Critical To Travellers, Economy And Survival Of Businesses In The Northwest & Northeast Regions

The Distinguished Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Mr. Lawal Adamu Usman, otherwise known and referred to as Mr LA by all and sundry, is putting action to his promises of a better, qualitative and sustained representation in the Hallowed Red Chamber of the Senate in the 10th National Assembly.

Mr. LA's antecedents for bringing smiles to the faces of all, is not new to the good people of Kaduna state where, irrespective of religious inclinations, tribe and ethnicity, gave succour to families with his philanthropy.

In the Red Chamber of the 10th National Assembly, the Distinguished Senator has hit the ground running by sponsoring a Motion on the floor of the Senate for the immediate completion of the Abuja-Kaduna expressway; the connecting road between the Federal Capital Territory, the Northwest/Northeast regions, that has become a nightmare to travellers.

The contract for the reconstruction of the expressway was awarded to Julius Berger Plc who have since completed the Kaduna-Zaria-Kano axis while the Abuja-Kaduna axis remains uncompleted due to increased insecurity concerns and bad weather that forced the leading construction company to temporarily stop works on the 160km road project.

The motion by the Distinguished Senator LA for the completion of the road, including provision of sustained security along the route, has elicited praises and commendations from all, including opposition members from the north and travellers alike.

In moving the motion, Senator LA called for urgent attention to be accorded the project as the delay in the completion has become very worrisome to all, imploring that the Senate, mandates the Senate Committee on Works, when constituted, FERMA to investigate reasons for the delay and also, the contract itself.

This is quality representation that the good people of Kaduna state have yearned for, over the years not minding the fact that the immediate past President resided in Kaduna and Katsina states.

Is this not the sign of better days to come for the good people of Kaduna state? Well, many who have been following the Distinguished Senator LA say it is just the beginning of a new dawn of a better society for not just supporters of Mr LA, but for all residents and travellers who will have reasons to pass through Kaduna State.
