The much-anticipated grand finale of John Owan Enoh (JOE) Lawn Tennis Tournament is set to take place on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in what is a culmination of the Cross River State Open, at the prestigious Calabar Sports Club.

The JOE Lawn Tennis Tournament, a flagship initiative of Senator John Owan Enoh, is providing a platform for nurturing tennis talents, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering a culture of healthy competition. The tourney features an U15 category, doubles, women's and men's singles, and pro exhibition games.

Senator John Owan Enoh, chief organizer and Nigeria's Minister of Sports Development, expresses enthusiasm and anticipation for the grand finale, stating that "the tournament represents a foundation for athletic excellence and dedication. It is a testament to our passion to support aspiring athletes and promote sports development within our communities," he said.

He added that the tournament is "an avenue of giving back to the society and community as a son of the soil, empowering young and talented people to find purpose, pursue passion, and attain greatness."

"The tournament," according to a statement from the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Sports, Mohammed Manga FCIA, "has witnessed a remarkable display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship among participants throughout its stages. As the grand finale approaches, excitement mounts not only among the competitors but also among tennis enthusiasts and supporters eagerly anticipating high-caliber matches and memorable moments, as the Minister also plans to attend."
