Group Slams Adeyanju, VDM Over Call for Wike's Sack ..... Says Administration Is No Child's Play

Nyesom Ezenwo Wike
Honourable Minister, FCT

"Administration is not comedy or the act of writing unfounded stories in the name of activism because, before any action is taken, due diligence must have been adequately carried out by government." Robinson Uke, Director of Communication CRP.

The recent calls for the removal of Nyesom Wike as Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT by the duo of Deji Adeyanju and Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man, has attracted condemnations from a grassroots based movement that insisting that both men have little understanding of the workings of any administration.

The group, under the aegis of Concerned Rivers People, CRP on Saturday declared that Deji Adeyanju and Martins Vincent Otse should know that "administration is not a child's play."

The position of the group was conveyed via a statement signed by its Director of Communication, Robinson Uke which declared that;

"Our attention has been drawn to a very misleading viral video clip where VDM and Adeyanju called for the removal of Barrister Nyesom Wike, the hard working Minister of FCT from office.

"Ordinarily we ought to have ignored this misleading and infantile development but for the sake of history we will like to put the records straight.

"Administration is not comedy or the act of writing unfounded stories in the name of activism because, before any action is taken, due diligence must have been adequately carried out by government.

Uke further explained that: "Before the demolition exercise, enough time was given to the residents to vacate the said area which they occupy illegally but they never yielded.

"Did Adeyanju and VDM bother to interrogate deeply into the matter whether the area in any way obstructed the master plan of the Federal Capital Territory?

"Why iss Abuja called a territory administered by a Minister? It is because it is the Seat of Power and the mirror of Nigeria.

"Wike has not broken any known law in Nigeria if by any way the area is part of the master plan and illegal occupants are found in the area.

"Did these two gentlemen probe beyond the publicity the video generated giving a wrong impression that the area will be allocated to estate developers.

"Government is all about authoritative allocation of scarce resources, today Wike is the custodian of FCT and by extension the number one citizen of the Territory.

"He believes in due process and will never go against established norms while carrying out his administrative duties because he strictly adheres to the law.

"From all indications, the clip was primarily designed to cause dis-affection between the President and the FCT Minister but this move is dead on arrival.

"We candidly advise these young men to adopt another approach in carrying out their bread and butter activism not this garbage in and garbage out approach.

"It smacks of an ulterior motive that was improperly cooked and dished to be consumed by those who don't understand how administration is carried out.

"Government and governance is for serious minded people and decisions are not taken based on sentiments. Wike is known not to be afraid of taking decision devoid of sentiments even where his blood relation is involved.

"We advise VDM and Deji to take their stunt elsewhere. Similar alarm was raised against Wike by VDM during the protest which he ended up retracting.

"We urge the public to ignore the stunts and advise ourselves to adhere to laws and regulations in the over riding public interest."

The statement concluded.
