Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Amb Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has congratulated His Excellency, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Algeria on the momentous occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the Algerian Revolution Day.

Amb Tuggar who stated that the historic day, commemorating the start of the valiant struggle for independence, stands as a powerful testament to the resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit of the Algerian people.

According to him, “The sacrifices made during the Algerian War of Independence continue to be a profound inspiration to liberation movements across Africa and the world, symbolizing an unyielding quest for self-determination and freedom.

“The bond between Nigeria and Algeria is deeply rooted in a shared history, mutual respect, and a common vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated Africa.

“As two pivotal nations on the continent, our strategic partnership, particularly within frameworks such as the African Union and other multilateral institutions, continues to be a cornerstone for advancing our collective aspirations for sustainable development and continental stability.

“Nigeria highly values the strong bilateral relations existing between our two countries and remains committed to deepening this collaboration across various sectors, including trade, energy, security, and cultural exchange, for the mutual benefit of our peoples. The recent commencement of direct commercial flights between Abuja and Algiers serves as a reference point for enhanced cooperation between both countries.

“Therefore, as Algeria celebrates this significant milestone in its national history, we join in solidarity with our Algerian brothers and sisters in honouring the memory of their national heroes. We look forward to continued fruitful cooperation and a future of shared progress.
