Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States to Experience Outage As TCN Undertakes Annual Maintenance on Mando–Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, has announced that it will undertake its annual maintenance on its Mando–Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Line from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, 31st May, 2026.


According to TCN in a statement late on Saturday, "the outage is necessary to enable TCN’s maintenance crew amend a damaged Red Phase Conductor on Tower T187 along the line route."


"Consequently, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) will be unable to off-take electricity to its customers across Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States, as well as parts of Bauchi and Yobe States, customers in Gazaoua (Niger Republic) would also be affected by the outage."


TCN, in the statement issued and signed by Ndidi Mbah General Manager Public Affairs Division, apologized for any inconvenience this will cause consumers in the affected areas.
