The family of the late former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has expressed profound appreciation to Nigerians and dignitaries across the country for their support, prayers and solidarity with the family from the announcement of his passing through the funeral rites and final burial.

In a message signed by Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, Ochada Onu-Ife and Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto, on behalf of the family, the family conveyed its deepest gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his moral support and condolences following the death of the former governor.

The family also acknowledged the support of former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; the late governor’s former colleagues and fellow governors; members of the Senate and House of Representatives; as well as national leaders and other dignitaries who mourned with the family and stood by them during the difficult period.

The family expressed particular appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his leadership, support and presence throughout the funeral arrangements.

It also thanked former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; former Governor Captain Idris Wada; Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo; members of the Kogi State Executive Council; and other government officials who honoured the late former governor.

The family equally expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Attah Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, Attah Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Traditional Council, for his fatherly role and support throughout the funeral process.

It also appreciated His Royal Highness, Chief Boniface Musa, Ojogba of Ife and Chairman, Omala Local Government Traditional Council, for his fatherly support during the period.

The family reserved special appreciation for the late governor’s widow, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Idris, for her immense contributions, unwavering support and steadfast companionship throughout their life together, particularly during his final years.

“May Almighty Allah reward her abundantly,” the family prayed.

The family further thanked the people of the Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigerians across the country who stood with them in mourning, visited the family, attended the burial, offered prayers, sent messages of condolence and provided support in various ways.

It also acknowledged the Ibro political family, traditional and religious leaders, members of the Idris family, friends, associates and colleagues who remained steadfast in their support throughout the period of mourning.
