MR SHERIFF HAMMED: THE LEGION OF SURULERE

From the allusion of Biblical content where "legion" was first used, it becomes imperative to naked the meaning of "legion" before what I desire is vomited about Mr Sheriff Hammed. 

In an instance, Merriam - Webster Dictionary defines "legion" as, "the principal unit of the Roman Army comprising 3000 to 6000 foot soldiers with cavalry". Just as different dictionaries have defined it, legion does not mean unclean spirit, but the number of spirits living in any man of Gerasenes - yes, from the Bible.

To begin with, it is not an argumentative matter and can never be subjected to it, that, in considering the incessant heavy impacts of Mr Sheriff Hammed in Ward G2, Surulere and Lagos State, one will nod in approving this topic of discourse. 

As a resident of Surulere who is blessed with curiosity, I got to know that Mr Sheriff Hammed is a son of a great political leader, who has been so impactful to the good people of Surulere and he has made leaders who are magnanimously doing great in their various leadership position.

Mr. Sheriff Hammed's rise to prominence as a result of his commitment and loyalty to his leaders and being progressive minded person, who development to our community have always been in his book.

In an attempt to satisfying my curiosity about this man, our face-to-face discussion totally convinced me that Mr Sheriff Hammed is the best example of brilliancy, doggedness, vibrancy, endurance, dedication, discipline, tolerance and generosity.

Mr Sheriff Hammed has had series of encounters, faced with countless challenges, he had nothing comparable to the factors which usher a bright future: well- to- do family, educated parents, sponsorship, comfort and many more. But even without knowing how God works, he was determined to be educated and had to accept Surulere and Lagos State as where he would struggle with the sole aim to singlehandedly sponsor himself. But today, he has risen to the league of reputable politician.

Unarguably, Mr Sheriff Hammed has diligently identified himself as one of the trusted person in the camp of Hon. Agboola Dabiri, a faithful and grasrooter in Lagos State, who has been privileged to had served as Vice Chairman and Chairman in Surulere Local Government. The positive impact make him to had been acknowledged as the then Chairman of Lagos State sport commission, Special Assistant on Central Business District, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development. It cannot be gainsaying that Hon. Agboola Dabiri was one among the pillar that stood firmly behind Rt. Hon. Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila during the "say no to 5th term" in Surulere then. And his dexterity and veracity won him the popular votes, all acceded to Hon. Agboola Dabiri, as he was the Director General of the campaign team of Gbaja for 5th term. 

Altruistically, Hon. Agboola Dabiri's passion to assist others in the presence of abject poverty, prepared ground for the massive love people have for him. To people of Surulere it is not off record that Hon. Agboola Dabiri has sacrificed, and, still sacrificing as an agent of transformation. He does not only mobilize people on the need to having a formal and sound education but also sponsors.

The wisdom behind this, as he claims, is to get Surulerian's engaged, give to them a more reasons to be hardworking, and to equally affect lives of the younger minds irrespective of gender, religion, age, or social class. 

Hon. Agboola Dabiri is being describe as a "father of all philanthropists" by residents of Surulere who have benefited from his sacrificial lifestyle. From that end, Bob Marley says: "The greatest of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively."

What made Mr Sheriff Hammed the political son of Hon. Agboola Dabiri, a General of Legions is nothing other than his mind-pricking generosity and the groundbreaking achievements. He is a dainty and decorated silent achiever whom only few men could surpass on a well leveled platform of records. No doubts, as General of numerous soldiers, Hon. Agboola Dabiri has coached many productive politicians and still teaching some with functional knowledge. 

It is therefore important that as a youth, one should have a model for personal growth and development. This, however, is a product of nurturing and mentoring. It is against this backdrop highly advisable to have the right model on the list, implement it in such a way that will bring the best out of you. Generosity, determination, dedication, adoptable character, faith in God and patience are among the qualities of Hon. Agboola Dabiri possesses. 

Importantly, the aforementioned are the steps required of any Youth setting a pace for success. In Hon. Agboola Dabiri, the General of Legions, i found a perfect model for growth.

However, in the face of any circumstances, God Almighty will supply your needs even when all hopes may have gone into doubt, fear and trembling.

Today shall speak good for you. You will experience the goodness, mercy and favour of God. God shall rain into your home pleasant surprises, the type you have never witnessed before. No evil will consume you, nor your household, all the goodies of today shall be your portion.
