Wealth Creation: Gov Okowa Blazes Trail As Additional 1,213 Youth Vacates Labour Market In Delta.

"Promises made and promises kept, is the song rocking the airwaves for the Okowa administration, and from the three senatorial districts; a paradigm shift from empty promises and abysmal performance by other gladiators"..... Latimore Oghenesivbe JP

The amazing news of human capacity development, socioeconomic remodelling, youth and women empowerment, wealth and job creation initiatives in Delta state, continues to occupy prime space and position in print, electronic and the new media across various spectrum in Nigeria and beyond.

And as a matter of fact, the opposition political parties and their leaders in the state, can no longer close their eyes to the remarkable achievements so far recorded by the Okowa administration within a period of five years and still counting. They gnash their teeth in acute envy. It is expected, nor be so? Nah so!

Promises made and promises kept, is the song rocking the airwaves for Okowa administration, and from the three senatorial districts; a paradigm shift from empty promises and abysmal performance by other gladiators especially in some states controlled by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

And it is not the fault of Delta State government and the governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, that APC governors are bereaved of good governance initiatives. They have no projects to commission and therefore cannot invite their brother governors for projects inauguration. The acute anger emanating from opposition failures should never again be transferred to a performing governor, Okowa of Delta State.

Therefore, the wailing members of the opposition who are frustrated and pained by the enviable good governance strides of this administration must of a necessity transfer their anger to the non-performing governors of their political party, APC.

Haven said that in clear terms and without any ambiguity, it is important to congratulate the newly inducted 1,213 youth entrepreneurs, domiciled in the 25 local government areas of the state, for the successful completion of their skills and vocational retraining under the Rural Youth Skills (RYSA) Programme and the Girls Entrepreneurship and Skills Training Programme (Project GEST).

RYSA produced first batch of 776 entrepreneurs while Project GEST graduated 437 young and dynamic small scale entrepreneurs in line with the Stronger Delta Agenda; job and wealth creation initiatives of Okowa administration, under the Ministry of Youth Development and Office of the Girl Child Empowerment Programme.

In a nutshell, it can be safely asserted that governor Okowa and this administration have again wiped away tears from the eyes of these youth by training and empowering them with Skills, starter packs and other necessary tools to become bread winners, not only for themselves, but for their immediate families. Their hope for a greater tomorrow restored.

The policy thrust of this administration, especially in the area of human capacity development, job and wealth creation is to equip beneficiaries with the needed moral, spiritual and managerial skills on how to excel as young entrepreneurs, because any business built on the Rock of Jesus Christ, never fails.

Therefore, beneficiaries must be focused on HIM that is able to give power to make wealth, GOD. Next requirement is total commitment and dedication to business growth, as well as the application of deferred self gratification needed for prudent management of resources and investment of profits for business expansion.

It was deliberate on the part of government to ensure that RYSA, GCEP and other programmes participants went through rigorous training regiment which included; modules in personal effectiveness, business management and proficiency test. The comprehensive training makes it mandatory for them to adhere strictly to business principles, maintain essential book keeping, self and business appraisals. It is a well known fact that Delta state, maintains number one position in job and wealth creation in Nigeria, under this dispensation.

The state Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa told RYSA and Project GEST graduands to make good and adequate use of acquired skills and starter packs, so as to justify the huge investment of government in human capacity development. He also assured Deltans that his administration will continue to invest heavily on youth skills, vocations and empowerment till the terminal date of this administration.

He emphasised his unrepentant commitments towards raising thousands of future billionaires and big time entrepreneurs via the various people focused and people oriented programmes; Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP), Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP), Women Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Programme (WESAP) and Girls Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (GEST) Programme.

RYSA graduands were trained in aluminium profiling, cartering and confectioneries, electrical installation and repairs, fashion designing, hair dressing and make-over, plumbing, screed making and painting, welding and fabrication, woodwork and furniture while GCEP girls were trained in fashion designing, cosmetology, event management, hairdressing/Styling, facial make-up, etcetera.

The governor's Senior Special Assistant on Girl-Child Empowerment, Mrs Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, said; "Project GEST is an initiative of the state government aimed at creating a new and vibrant generation of empowered and skilled young women equipped with necessary skills to turn around current circumstances of their families.

"No fewer than 6,000 applications were received when the project was announced, adding that 450 were selected across the 25 local government areas as pilot trainees of the programme, after sifting and interviews, and 437 made it to the final stage".

Governor Okowa is no doubt a trail blazer in youth empowerment, job and wealth creation; raising young entrepreneurs and  thereby decongesting the already congested labour market in the state, occasioned by obvious mismanagement of the nation's commonwealth and resources by APC nation government under President Muhammadu Buhari.

It is no surprise therefore, to see Mr President embarking on regular medical treatment and checkups abroad, because of his failure to build and equip world class hospitals in Nigeria, after five years of his eight years tenure in office. The CHANGE Agenda is now a mockery and Next Level cannot be attained via deception by APC.

In Delta, Okowa administration will continue to strive towards building a strong economy for the state and people under the Stronger Delta Agenda, which is why the additional 1,213 youth recently inducted into the State Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame, SEHoF, must of a necessity hit the ground running and showcase their skills, vocations and desire to succeed in life.

They must work very hard to justify government genuine efforts and huge investments to make them successful individuals through self employment, and for them to also train other youth in their neighbourhood, so as to achieve and sustain the projected multiplying effects of these socioeconomic programmes.
