Hoodlums Attack, Brutalize Man, Vandalize car, Cart away money in Delta Community
"The silence of every Community leader for criminal activities of his youths is a sign of continual support to destroy which in turn, may call for a reprisal attack which we are not praying for"....Okosu Smart.
Report by Senator Omonext, Warri.
Hoodlums have attacked and brutalized one Prince Clever Donokoromo to the point of death as they vandalized a Toyota Camry vehicle he drove.
The incident occurred along Ogbe-Ijoh and DSC road in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victim was quickly rushed to an undisclosed hospital by Security Operatives who saved the situation.
The Delta State Community Peace Ambassador, Amb. (Engr.) Okosu Smart in a statement accused the Aladja Community youths for being responsible for the attacks on the victim.
In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, William Akpoebi, the former Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC in Ogbe-Ijoh called on the leaders of Aladja Community to caution their youths.
"The silence of every Community leader for criminal activities of his youths is a sign of continual support to destroy which in turn, may call for a reprisal attack which we are not praying for."
He noted that the peace accord initiated by the Peace Vanguard on the 10th of July 2020 between Aladja Community in Udu with Isaba and Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South-West Local Government Area is a death trap to the Ijaw people in the two Ijaw speaking and neighbouring Communities to Aladja.
According to him, t"peace which is temporarily being enjoyed by the Communities was disrupted by some enemies in Aladja who carryout criminal activities along Ogbe-Ijoh and DSC road and Aladja and Isaba road by attacking commercial tricycle operators as well as secretly burning of houses in Ogbe-Ijoh GRA.
Amb. Smart called on the Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa led Delta State Government and the relevant security agencies to urgently caution Aladja Community youths to avoid another full blown communal and boundary war.
A leader in Aladja Community, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi said, "Smart Okosu is a known war monger who have not been in a happy mood since 10 July, 2020 when the peace broke out. He has been waiting for any opportunity to stoke the embers of war".
He said,"Aladja, as a community, did not send any one to destroy any person's car nor hurt anyone."
Comrade Ighotegwolor explained that all that happened.
According to him,"Hon. Moses Ogugu told the President of Aladja Community Council,Elder Otto Ogbiruveta, through Clever Donokoromo that they wanted to pass through Aladja a swamp buggy to clear a water front at Isaba.
"The President told him to wait that he would consult some leaders and will get back to them. Same Ogugu also met with me and I told him the same thing. I even told him Aladja would be having a Leaders meeting by Monday and that after that meeting I will get back to him.
"Surprisingly, the call I got at about 10am on Monday was that one low bed trailer was conveying a bulldozer to Isaba and that it was returned. But that before then, Hon. Moses Ogugu, Chief Monday Angolo aka Today Today and Clever Donokoromo had gone to see some youth and bargained on how to help them pass through Aladja without the knowledge of the leadership of the community.
"We later learnt that it was this bargain that went awry that made some of the youth to revolt against themselves leading to the bashing of the car of Today Today.
"I make bold to say that if Today Today and Ogugu had listened and waited for the leadership to talk to the youth what happened would not have happened."
