To start with, the architect of local governments as surrogates of the state governors was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Executive Governor of Lagos state for two terms. PBAT as governor, eroded the powers and functions of local governments and installed his stooges and cronies as Chairmen of both the Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDA). Truth be told!
However, the hope to rekindle our trust in the Supreme Court is gaining momentum, with a verdict to give local governments the power of financial autonomy.
Prejudice apart, and without mincing words, it is indeed a win for grassroot democracy. GBAM!

Though, we are going through a serious economic crisis at this time, but as a student of political economy, I was taught that, the super structure like economic of a great country is built on a political idealogy. (democracy). The political idealogy is like a foundation of a building.
Suffice it to say, if we get it right at the foundation level, every other things for true nation building will fall in place.
Yes, that will need to strengthen and deepen our democracy cannot be overemphasized.
Hmmm, as one of the strong critics of PBAT, I have considered this verdict, under his presidency as a win for democracy.
Hmmm, God Almighty can use a worthless thing to confirm its greatness.
WHO ON EARTH CAN QUERY THE POWER OF ALMIGHTY GOD? HMMM.
Congratulations to all lovers of true democracy!!!
Hmmm, our hope is still dim, but not totally lost.
