DG NILDS TASKS UNIBEN NEW VICE CHANCELLOR ON APPOINTMENT ..... Tasks Appointee To Uplift Institution To Higher Academic Hotizons

"The sky is the starting point for the new Vice Chancellor, who until his new appointment was the Director of Legislative Support Services where he performed creditably well."

Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has challenged the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, Benin City, Edoba Omoregie, SAN, to take the institution to the next level in global ranking and reckoning.

Professor Sulaiman, who is the Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS National Assembly, gave the challenge in a congratulatory message signed by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri.

"The appointment of Professor Omoregie portends a 'New Dawn for the Rebirth of UNIBEN' in the annals of the great institution".

The NILDS DG therefore posits that "UNIBEN undoubtedly has a big clout of influence and elastic potentials which he should leverage on to change the narratives in the spheres of administrative mechanism, academic reinvigoration, improved town, and Gown relations as well as consolidate and expand strategic linkages with other universities.

Prof Sulaiman vouched for the intimidating pedigree, unblemished academic credentials cum character, and competency of Professor Omoregie to excel in his new area of responsibility.

While congratulating the new Vice Chancellor for his well-deserved call to serve in a higher position of authority and responsibility, the former Minister of National Planning said his appointment underscores NILDS's reputability and integrity among comity of institutes with certified identity as a reputed big hub of academic excellence and enterprise.

The DG NILDS expressed optimism that the sky is the starting point for the new Vice Chancellor, who until his new appointment was the Director of Legislative Support Services where he performed creditably well.

He said the appointment of Professor Omoregie raises hope for improved NILDS-UNIBEN collaboration which has spanned over a decade, especially now that both parties are reaping the tangible fruits of the partnership, resulting in seven cograduates from the postgraduate programmes slated for the 8th convocation ceremony on Monday, 28th October, 2024.

Professor Sulaiman prayed for God's favour, protection, and guidance for Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, as he navigates the curves and bends of the challenges of taking the UNIBEN to the next level under his visionary leadership.
