ISSA-ONILU CALLS FOR UNITY, BROTHERHOOD AMONGST NIGERIANS

"Nigeria had come a long way in its journey of nationhood and therefore, wrangling and discord must not be allowed to threaten the bond of unity it has enjoyed." Issa-Onilu.

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has charged Nigerians, especially the Christian community to remain law abiding and peaceful throughout and after the Christmas festivities.

Issa-Onilu stated this via a Christmas message to Nigerians in a statement issued by Paul Odenyi, Deputy Director of the Agency. He noted that Nigeria had come a long way in its journey of nationhood and therefore, wrangling and discord must not be allowed to threaten the bond of unity it has enjoyed.

"Christmas portrays the love God has for man for which He condescended to identify and unite with man through the birth of Jesus Christ according to the Christian faith."

He therefore stressed the need to renew the bond of love, unity and kindred spirit among Nigerians by emulating the virtues of Jesus Christ, adding that it would facilitate the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.

He charged Nigerian Christians to use the 2024 Christmas celebration to pray for renewed spirit of love, unity and brotherhood amongst Nigerians.

The NOA Director General particularly urged Nigerians to emulate and display the selflessness and love that Christmas represents by using the celebration to pray for the good of their neighbours and the stability and progress of their nation.

“If every one of us selflessly loves and cares for the next person, it will translate into a sacrificial love for our country and a genuine collective effort at national development." He stated.

He wished the Christian community a joyful Christmas celebration.
