The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate has announced plans of the Federal government to convene the 2026 National Traditional and religious Leaders Summit on Health. This, he said, is part of efforts of the Federal Government to deepen community engagement, strengthen health reforms and improve outcomes across Nigeria.

Professor Ali Pate stated this on Wednesday, 11th February 2026 at a Press briefing ahead of the summit scheduled to take place at the State House, Monday 16 February, 2026 in Abuja.

He revealed that the Summit which will witness traditional and religious leaders from the 36 states of the federation including the FCT, marks the first time this group of eminent persons will be coming together to engage holistically on health sector reforms.
