Umahi, APC Chair Plan Showcase of Tinubu’s Infrastructure Scorecard

.... As Umahi commends Yilwatda for the peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries and the inclusive approach adopted by the NWC in ensuring aspirants were given a level playing field during the contests.

Nigeria's Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, on Tuesday met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, to fine-tune plans for the presentation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s infrastructure achievements before the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The meeting, held in Abuja, centred on fixing a date for Senator Umahi to formally brief the APC leadership on what he described as the administration’s “giant strides” in road and bridge construction under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the Minister in a statement issued and signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Francis Nwaze, "the projects being executed across the country have continued to attract commendations and positive reactions from Nigerians and stakeholders in different sectors."

The Works Minieter also praised the APC National Chairman for introducing a system that allows Ministers to appear before the National Working Committee on live telecast to give account of the administration’s performance and policy gains.

He further commended Yilwatda for what he described as the peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries and the inclusive approach adopted by the NWC in ensuring aspirants were given a level playing field during the contests.

“Ministers now have the opportunity to openly account for the progress and gains made by the administration before party leaders and Nigerians,” Umahi said, while applauding the party leadership for deepening internal democracy.

Responding, Yilwatda lauded the Minister for what he called the ongoing transformation in the nation’s infrastructure sector, assuring him that the NWC would soon invite him for a formal presentation on the administration’s achievements.

The APC Chairman noted that even ahead of the proposed presentation, Nigerians were already witnessing the impact of the Federal Government’s infrastructure drive through visible projects nationwide, television reports and public feedback.

He maintained that the Tinubu administration’s road and bridge projects had become increasingly visible across the country.

Umahi, however, assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remained committed to tackling the nation’s challenges while sustaining critical infrastructure development across all regions.

Meanwhile, shortly after the meeting, the Minister proceeded to review and address the developing situation at Eko Bridge.
